Rangers are hoping to pay £12.7 million to recruit Colombian winger Jhon Arias this summer, ahead of Atletico Madrid.

Journalist Christian Martin states on their website (April 12) that the Ibrox club is one of several teams hoping to capture the Fluminese star this summer, who is considering a move to Europe.
While Wolves, Atletico Madrid, West Ham, and Crystal Palace are all mentioned as interested parties, Rangers may possibly be considering a player of his caliber and aptitude.

“Cholo” Simeone has him on the radar as a potential client. Jhon Arias, who is worth between €15 and €17 million (£12.7–£14.5 million), might join the mattress team, he stated.

“A player with good footing, experience, speed, good small-space management, definition, and a technique that has implications for European football would be of interest to Rangers of Scotland as well.”

Oscar Cortes: Will Rangers keep him?

During the transfer window, Philippe Clement is clearly eager to investigate new markets for Rangers, and it is anticipated that the team will specifically look at South America.

That was realized in January when Oscar Cortes, a loanee from Colombia, joined the wide areas. He made a big impression right away, but an injury ended his season early.

Nonetheless, there was a chance to extend the loan agreement, and since Cortes and Arias can play both wings, it appears more likely that one will be needed than both.

Naturally, it would be much easier to deal with Cortes, and £12.7 million would represent a considerable portion of Ibrox’s finances. Not to mention the competition for his autograph.

If his agency is merely trying to spark interest, this is definitely one to watch going into the summer, but Rangers have completed deals in the past that people didn’t anticipate.
