The news that Anthony Elanga would not be playing today against Wolverhampton Wanderers has dealt a blow to Nottingham Forest.
It is believed that the attacker took a minor knock. Prior to the Reds’ travel to face Everton, who are their relegation opponents, he is anticipated to resume training the following week.
After leaving Manchester United in the summer, Elanga has been a key member of Forest’s squad this year. In 34 Garibaldi appearances, he has five goals to his name.
On goal differential, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team is currently outside of the relegation zone going into today’s match. They will be looking for a repeat of their last home game, in which they defeated Fulham by the same result, after they fell 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur last time out.
After that win against the Cottagers, Nuno continued to play with the same starting lineup in the capital. This afternoon, the sole change is that Gio Reyna starts his first game for the team in place of Elanga.
The defense line that starts ahead of goalie Matz Sels will once again consist of Neco Williams, Andrew Omobamidele, Murillo, and Ola Aina. Danilo and Ryan Yates will comprise the midfield.
It appears that Reyna will start on the right wing instead of Elanga. To assist Chris Wood, the striker, he will team up with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Morgan Gibbs-White.
Forest: Sels; Williams, Hudson-Odoi, Wood; Yates, Danilo; Omobamidele, Williams, Murillo, and Aina. Subs: Niakhate, Origi, Montiel, Ribeiro, Turner, Tavares, Sangare, Toffolo, Dominguez.
