According to Jeunes Footeux, West Ham United must spend “at least” £21.4 million to beat Rennes to the signing of Toulouse attacker Thijs Dallinga.
At just 23 years old, the Hammers target has already tallied 16 goals and five assists this season across all competitions, making him a potential starter at the London Stadium.
West Ham is reportedly looking to add a new number nine to lead their attack over the summer, so the price tag shouldn’t deter them.
Is Thijs Dallinga’s trade to West Ham United finalized?
This season, West Ham’s forward line has scored plenty of goals; as the playoffs draw near, Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus, who arrived in 2023, are both in double figures.
Despite Kudus’ success on the right side of David Moyes’ 4-2-3-1 formation and Bowen’s versatility around the front four in his 15 Premier League goals, neither player is a traditional striker.
Bowen is most effective when running at defenders from wide positions, even though he can be useful in the number nine role. He would also definitely prefer to connect up with a center-forward who is ahead of him.
Dallinga, who earned his first cap for the Netherlands in 2023, is a target worth pursuing because Danny Ings and Michail Antonio have combined for just five goals this year.
After playing European football for the previous three seasons, Dallinga has more than doubled that total in Ligue 1 alone. David Moyes is looking to elevate his team to new heights, and signing the 23-year-old from Rennes might be the final piece in the puzzle.
