According to reports, Newcastle deployed scouts to see Conor Gallagher in action in preparation for a possible summer transfer.
Due to his 2025 contract expiring and his failure to extend it, Gallagher’s future at Chelsea is unknown. Rumor has it that the Blues may want to offload Gallagher during the summer transfer window in an effort to stay out of trouble with Financial Fair Play regulations. Gallagher is an academy graduate who, should he be moved on in the summer, might fetch a tidy profit.
The Chronicle reports that Newcastle has surfaced as a possible suitor for Gallagher after sending a scout to observe the England international in action during Chelsea’s most recent 4-3 victory over Manchester United. As they complete their transfer preparations, Eddie Howe’s team may make a bid for Gallagher, who is anticipated to cost approximately £40 million (€46 million/$49 million).
THOUGH BY GALLAGHER
In an interview with The Telegraph in November, Gallagher discussed his dedication to the team and expressed his hope of remaining there: “I’m sure that [my contract] will get sorted out, everyone knows Chelsea is my club and I love playing for them.”
FUTURE PLANS FOR CHELSEA?
Chelsea and Gallagher will return to action on Saturday when they play Manchester City at Wembley Stadium in the FA Cup semi-finals. Manchester United or Coventry City will face the victorious team in the championship match.
