Arsenal is set to speak with Santiago Gimenez on a potential transfer after he made it clear that he wanted to leave Feyenoord this summer, according to the Record.
Mikel Arteta is expected to prioritize bringing in a new clinical striker this summer, even if he is also planning to add a new midfielder and winger to his roster.
It is anticipated that Arteta will handle this issue in the summer. Despite being the league’s top goal scorer this year, Arsenal still needs a striker capable of scoring 20 goals or more in a season.
Ivan Toney, Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen, and Alexander Isak are among the players who have been connected to a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks.
However, Gimenez has also been connected to a move to Arsenal, and it appears the Gunners are ready to step up their pursuit of the Mexican international.
Record journalist Alejandro Gomez reports that Gimenez will soon start talks with Arsenal on a possible transfer after deciding to leave Feyenoord in the summer.
There is competition for Arsenal to sign Gimenez.
Nevertheless, the 23-year-old has other options because, the report claims, he would consult with Juventus and Atletico Madrid prior to selecting one of the three teams to join.
Gomez stated:
He believes that his time at Feyenoord is coming to an end, and he is prepared to begin establishing connections with three crucial organizations. There is no one who is more advanced than the other, but there are differences in the interaction with each of them in terms of interest levels.
“They are not conjecture, and the Mexican must choose between Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Arsenal.”
The attacker would give Arsenal more goals.
Since the previous season, Gimenez has done a fantastic job for Feyenoord.
With 26 goals and 6 assists across all competitions, he is one of Europe’s most deadly attackers this season.
By acquiring a dependable goal scorer, Arsenal may benefit from his signing. The 23-year-old may finally receive the big break he has been waiting for.
