Selhurst Park revamp boosts Crystal Palace as Man Utd ‘target’ reacts

A thrilling weekend of Premier League action is on the horizon, kicking off a hectic festive period packed with matches. From now on, games will come thick and fast. For three of London’s top-flight clubs—Arsenal, Crystal Palace, and Tottenham—it’s already been a busy week, with Carabao Cup commitments keeping them occupied.

This weekend marks the final round of fixtures before Christmas. While there’s still room for change, a team’s position at Christmas often provides a strong indication of their final standing. In the meantime, here’s a roundup of the latest news and transfer rumors from the top flight.

Crystal Palace to Get Stadium Upgrade
Crystal Palace is set for a significant transformation at Selhurst Park, which has been showing its age. A £150 million remodel of the main stand is scheduled to begin after this season.

According to *Inside Croydon*, the club has already started preliminary works, including minor adjustments to the current stand and preparing the site footprint. A club statement explained:
“Initial enabling works have begun towards the construction, including some minor adjustments to the existing main stand, and preparations for the expected site footprint. As is common practice for a development of this magnitude, the club have identified the potential for a small range of ‘minor material amendments’ to the original stadium design plans, and are in communication with local residents and Croydon Council to obtain permission for these.”

 Celtic Linked with Evan Ferguson
Celtic may have an outside shot at landing Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, despite competition from Fulham and other clubs. Speaking to *Coin Poker*, pundit Don Goodman shared his thoughts:
“If I look at the quality of the Scottish Premiership, I don’t think a transfer to the SPFL would be right for Evan Ferguson. However, he’s an Irish lad who has previously admitted Celtic are his favorite Scottish team. That could be a little carrot to consider Parkhead.”

Goodman added, “European football would be an attraction, but would it be enough after being linked with some of the best clubs in the world? While European nights are brilliant, the rest of it—aside from Rangers and maybe Aberdeen—is relatively easy. I say that with respect, as someone who played in the Scottish Premiership. It would be monumental if Celtic could somehow convince him to sign.”

 Yildiz Dismisses Transfer Speculation
Juventus star Kenan Yildiz has been linked to Manchester United, but the Türkiye international appears uninterested in leaving. Speaking to *Tuttosport*, he stated:
“I’m happy at Juventus! Next year? I see myself here fighting for more titles as a Juventus player. In five years? On the pitch, giving everything to win in this shirt. I am happy at Juventus.”
