Palace Eye “Exceptional” January Signing
Crystal Palace have reportedly entered talks to secure a new target for the January transfer window, praised as “exceptional” by his national team manager.
Optimism at Selhurst Park
Despite a heavy defeat to Arsenal last weekend, Palace approach the festive period in better shape than just a month ago. Wins against Brighton & Hove Albion and Ipswich Town, alongside a draw with Manchester City, have boosted morale.
However, with the club still hovering near the Premier League relegation zone, manager Oliver Glasner is likely to pursue reinforcements in January.
Transfer Targets on the Radar
The Eagles have been linked to several players, including Manchester City’s James McAtee, Millwall’s Romaine Esse, and Fluminense winger Jhon Arias. Scouts have particularly tracked Arias, nicknamed “Little Engine,” who delivered 15 goals and 8 assists last season. Praised for his versatility, he’s seen as Fluminense’s standout talent.
Talks Progressing for Jan-Niklas Beste
The club is reportedly closing in on a deal for Benfica winger Jan-Niklas Beste. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Palace are captivated by the German player, and negotiations with his advisors and Benfica are well underway.
Benfica, open to selling, aim to recoup the £6.5 million spent to sign Beste this summer. Though he hasn’t secured a starting role in Portugal, Beste’s time at Heidenheim showcased his talent, with 20 goals and 28 assists over two seasons, earning the club a historic Bundesliga promotion in 2023.
High Praise for Beste
Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann highlighted Beste’s versatility and exceptional set-piece skills, describing him as deserving of his national team call-up. Former teammates and coaches have also applauded his talent, especially his left foot, regarded as a game-changer on the pitch.
Crystal Palace fans will hope Beste’s potential can bring the spark needed to climb the Premier League table.
