Crystal Palace aim to bounce back with a win against AFC Bournemouth on Boxing Day away from Selhurst Park.
The Eagles suffered back-to-back defeats against Arsenal, first in the Carabao Cup and then in the Premier League, but Oliver Glasner’s side has shown good form recently. Before those losses, Palace were unbeaten in five games, securing two wins during that stretch.
Palace will be bolstered by the return of three key players for their Boxing Day clash with Bournemouth. Glasner confirmed in today’s press conference that Eberechi Eze, who missed the last match with a minor injury, will return to the lineup.
Additionally, Daniel Muñoz, absent due to suspension, is set to reclaim his spot as the starting right-wing back. Trevoh Chalobah, an unused substitute against Arsenal, is expected to join Marc Guehi and Maxence Lacroix in a three-man defense.
Palace Look to Bounce Back Despite Arsenal Defeat
While Palace fell 5-1 to the Gunners, the scoreline arguably didn’t reflect their effort. Defensive lapses on set pieces proved costly, but the Eagles managed to create opportunities even after going 3-1 down at halftime.
Missing the quality of Eze and Muñoz undoubtedly impacted their performance, but Glasner can take heart from his team’s resilience. The focus now shifts to regrouping and motivating the squad for the challenge ahead.
Bournemouth in Red-Hot Form
Bournemouth, under Andoni Iraola, are in scintillating form with four wins and a draw in their last five matches. Currently fifth in the Premier League, the Cherries are aiming for European spots and have been formidable at home, winning four games at the Vitality Stadium.
Palace Target Vital Points
Despite a rough start to the season, Palace have regained momentum, climbing to 16th in the table with 16 points. With Eze and Muñoz returning, the Eagles will aim for a strong performance and all three points on Thursday.
