Palace poised for record deal to please Glasner

Crystal Palace eye 19-year-old left-wing-back El Hadji Malick Diouf from Slavia Prague, reports the Daily Mail.

The Premier League strugglers are keen to bolster their defense in the January transfer window, identifying 19-year-old left-wing-back El Hadji Malick Diouf as a key target. The Senegalese talent offers versatility, excelling both defensively and offensively on the left flank.

Diouf began his career in Senegal before moving to Tromso in Norway in February 2023 after a successful trial. He later joined Slavia Prague in January 2024 on a four-and-a-half-year deal and has since become a standout performer. This season, he has impressed with six goals and two assists in the Czech top flight.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner sees Diouf as an ideal fit for his 3-4-3 system, targeting him to strengthen the left side of the squad. While Tyrick Mitchell remains a solid option at left-back, the addition of Diouf would provide much-needed depth and competition.

The January transfer window offers a crucial opportunity for Palace to address their struggles. Currently sitting 16th in the Premier League, just three points above the relegation zone, the team has underperformed throughout the season. Glasner is eager to reverse their fortunes with new signings to revitalize the squad.

Tyrick Mitchell to leave Crystal Palace?

A broader squad revamp could be on the horizon for Crystal Palace, with up to eight players potentially leaving the club in 2025. Adding Diouf would mark the first step in reshaping the team and securing their Premier League status.
