In their next two games, Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo and Nicolas Jackson will be under pressure from manager Mauricio Pochettino to contain their emotions. The impassioned pair’s absences could not come at a worse time for their squad, as they are only one yellow card away from receiving two-match suspensions each.
Over the weekend, Sheffield United held Chelsea to a 2-2 draw, demonstrating why fans are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the way the team is taking. The Blues appeared to have grabbed a crucial three points prior to Oli McBurnie’s equalizer in the 92nd minute, thanks to goals from Thiago Silva and Noni Madueke each side of Jayden Bogle’s goal.
Chelsea lost the opportunity to get closer to the European spots and ended up in ninth place in the Premier League as a result of the draw. With eight games remaining, the Blues must make sure they play their best in each of their remaining games and avoid giving up scrappy goals due to complacency.
To make sure that Caicedo and Jackson do not acquire their tenth booking of the season, Pochettino is depending on them to exhibit maturity beyond their years. Pochettino will need as many players as possible available for his team’s final stretch.
