Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo is shifting the momentum at the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest are changing perceptions, with ridicule fading as they rise to fourth in the Premier League, accumulating 28 points from 16 matches.
On Saturday, they secured a thrilling comeback victory over Aston Villa, with goals from Nikola Milenkovic and Anthony Elanga, the latter coming in the third minute of injury time. Elanga’s winner earned praise from Theo Walcott, and even Gary Lineker has changed his opinion on Forest this season.
However, despite the victory, manager Nuno Espirito Santo is still pushing for improvement. He expressed frustration with Elanga, who, despite scoring the winning goal, has struggled to meet expectations this season. Espirito Santo said, “We’ve been asking for more actions from him!” emphasizing the importance of contribution from all players, regardless of their starting role.
The team spirit at Forest is stronger than ever, with Espirito Santo’s efforts in pre-season fostering unity. Early business has also been key to their success, and with a relegation battle now looking unlikely, Forest are focused on further progress.
Elanga, signed for £15 million from Manchester United, is still just 22 and has the support of his teammates to regain his form. Despite talk about his starting role, his potential remains undeniable, and he aims to build on his impressive contributions from last season.
