Earlier this season, Sheeran made headlines when he playfully interrupted Ruben Amorim’s interview following Ipswich’s 1–1 draw against Manchester United. That result came shortly after Ipswich secured their first win of the campaign against Tottenham Hotspur.
However, the team has struggled to build momentum, earning just one additional win against Wolves before this latest success. With only 15 points from 19 matches, Ipswich remains in a precarious position, just one point away from safety in the relegation battle.
Their next test comes on Jan. 5 against Fulham, where they’ll aim to deliver another spirited performance to keep their survival hopes alive and give fans, including Sheeran, more reasons to cheer in the new year.
