Ed Sheeran Celebrates Ipswich Town’s Epic Premier League Win Over Chelsea

Ipswich Town claimed their first home victory of the season with a 2–0 win over Chelsea.

Ed Sheeran joined thousands of fans at Portman Road to celebrate Ipswich Town’s stunning 2–0 triumph over Chelsea. The unexpected victory marked a historic moment for the club, as it was their first home Premier League win in 8,286 days.

Goals from Liam Delap and Omari Hutchinson shocked fourth-placed Chelsea and electrified the loyal crowd. Sheeran, a minority stakeholder in Ipswich Town and a regular at matches, had never witnessed a Premier League home victory until this unforgettable performance.

Earlier this season, Sheeran made headlines when he playfully interrupted Ruben Amorim’s interview following Ipswich’s 1–1 draw against Manchester United. That result came shortly after Ipswich secured their first win of the campaign against Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the team has struggled to build momentum, earning just one additional win against Wolves before this latest success. With only 15 points from 19 matches, Ipswich remains in a precarious position, just one point away from safety in the relegation battle.

Their next test comes on Jan. 5 against Fulham, where they’ll aim to deliver another spirited performance to keep their survival hopes alive and give fans, including Sheeran, more reasons to cheer in the new year.
