Crystal Palace set to abandon El Hadji Malick Diouf pursuit after £12.5m bid rejection.

Slavia Prague doubts the Eagles will raise their offer as they focus on signing a new left wing-back this month.

Palace’s Pursuit of Diouf in Doubt

Slavia Prague does not expect Crystal Palace to continue their chase for El Hadji Malick Diouf after rejecting a £12.5 million bid for the 20-year-old left wing-back. The Senegal international, attracting interest from several Premier League and European clubs, remains a key target for Palace.

According to Standard Sport, Slavia believes Palace will now explore other options to address their need for a left wing-back in January. However, while Palace are unwilling to meet Slavia’s £20 million valuation, they could still surprise with an improved offer.

Diouf, signed by Slavia for £2.1 million from Tromsø last January, is under contract until 2028 without a release clause. The Czech leaders anticipate selling him either this month or in the summer, securing a significant profit.

The Eagles view the left wing-back role as a priority, with Tyrick Mitchell currently their only option. Strengthening this position would provide Mitchell with greater competition.

Despite a rocky start under manager Oliver Glasner, Palace’s form has improved with just one loss in their last nine matches, lifting them to 15th in the Premier League table.
